4 Ways To Gain Power - Part 2

4 Ways To Gain Power

Part Two

In the past number of months, I have felt like I can identify with men and women in the Bible who have encountered suffering. I never want to make suffering a requirement for the Christian’s journey but it does happen to many of us.  We do see godly people suffering difficulties in the Bible. Job suffered when he lost his health, his children, and his fortune. Esther an orphan suffered without her parents. Paul the apostle suffered in prison and was beaten. Jesus suffered on the cross. After Jesus suffered death on the cross He received resurrection power, and we see most people in the Bible who suffered also received this same resurrection power to live an incredible life like Job, Esther, Paul, and many more. We learned that after we have suffered a while, we can arise in resurrection power too.

1 Peter‬ 5:10-11‬ TPT‬‬  … after your brief suffering …God …will personally and powerfully restore you and make you stronger than ever. Yes, he will set you firmly in place and build you up. And he has all the power needed to do this...

I know we all face difficulties at different times in our lives, sometimes it feels like it is more than we can handle, and we need a miracle. As Christian women, we depend on God’s power for our healing, financial breakthrough, and supernatural peace over stress. We all need the supernatural power of God to overcome our problems.  Jesus wants to give you His power to win against your adversary, the devil! God wants His people to be winners in every battle we face.  Jesus came to earth to show us His power and to show us how to gain power.

Join us for the next few weeks as we study the “4 Ways To Gain Power”. Last week we shared the first point: Get close to Jesus who has all power, and then you will experience power.  The second way to gain power is to:

2. Learn All You Can About His Power At Work In You

Philippians 3:10  says… I want to know Jesus and the power of His resurrection.

Jesus has resurrection power and He tells us we have resurrection power too. Resurrection power means things that have died in your life can be resurrected. Maybe you have been given a hopeless health report, you are going through a painful divorce or your child has walked away from Jesus, saying they don’t believe in God anymore. What do we do during these impossible times? We cry out for God’s resurrection power, to bring life, hope, a future, and a miracle.

Here are some scriptures that God writes to us promising His resurrection power. The Apostle Paul cried out in Philippians 3:10 …that He wanted to know Jesus and the power of His resurrection. And this should be our hunger to learn all we can about his resurrection power at work in us. Read the following scriptures outloud and make the declarations.

Declarations Of Power

  1. God hasn’t left me powerless! Isaiah 40:29 He gives power to the weak and strength to the powerless.

  2. God has given me all power over my enemies. Luke 10:19 Look, I have given you authority over all the power of the enemy…

  3. God is the one who gives me power. Matt 10:2 …he called his twelve disciples, he gave them power against unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal all manner of sickness and all manner of disease.

  4. God’s power is at work in me. Ephesians 3:20 Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us.

  5. God’s Holy Spirit of power lives in me. Romans 8:11 The Spirit of the One who raised Jesus from the dead is living in you. So the God who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your bodies…  He will do this by the power of his Spirit, who lives in you.

Prayer to Gain Power

Jesus, we are thankful you possess resurrection power, and we believe that you raised yourself  from the dead. The Holy Spirit that dwells in you gave you resurrection power. We believe God’s desire is for us to have this same Holy Spirit dwelling inside us, giving us resurrection power. You want us to have resurrection power and we invite the Holy Spirit to dwell in us in power. You have not left us powerless, you have given us authority over all the power of the enemy, we have power against unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal all manner of sickness and all manner of disease. Your power works in us, so we can do exceeding abundantly above all that we can ask for or think of and we do this through the miraculous power of your Holy Spirit, who lives in us. The Spirit of the One who raised Jesus from the dead is living in us. So the God who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to our bodies, our marriages, our children, grandchildren, husband, business, finances, and mental health.

We need greater power to overcome the adversity we are facing. We need your supernatural power at work in us giving us the power to take down lies, accusations, addictions, break strongholds, miraculously recover all that has been taken from us, and the power to listen and obey the Holy Spirit. Increase my family and church family revelation of YOU and let your power be at work in our lives. Amen.

We love you and we will be praying for you. Will you share with us what you learned from this devotional about the 4 Ways To Gain Power?
