4 Ways To Gain Power

4 Ways To Gain Power
Blog Part One

On April 29, over twenty years ago my two-year-old son passed away from a terminal illness. He spent most of his little life in and out of hospitals and we fought for his healing with prayer and the best medical care. It was heartbreaking the day he went to be with Jesus but thankfully, I was encased by a community of church friends and family who carried me through these difficult hours. Most of all, through my suffering the Holy Spirit gave me inward comfort, and the power to heal from my tragedy.  I experienced the incredible peace of God that surpasses your understanding, talked about in Philippians 4:7.

I was engulfed with peace of mind, constantly feeling God’s presence, and it brought me supernatural peace in my heart. This kind of peace is unexplainable, it is unimaginable, it is living life from a different perspective - from a God-perspective.  I know the doctor offered me peace with strong medication. But the Holy Spirit invited me to his world of peace through prayer, scriptures, and godly friends. The Holy Spirit’s peace gave me strong confidence and assurance that my baby was still alive and in heaven with Jesus and I would see my child again. Although I was separated in this life we would have eternity together in the next life.

God’s peace is far-fetched, mindboggling, and implausible. He never left me or forsaken me, every time unbearable grief would come, I thought about scripture or began to pray in my prayer language or English, His presence engulfed me, delivering, comforting, giving me hope and a future.

I know we all face difficulties at different times in our lives, sometimes it feels like the situation is more than we can handle, and we need a miracle. As Christian women, we depend on God for healings, finances, breakthroughs, and peace. We all need the supernatural power of God to overcome our problems. God wants His people to be winners in every battle we face.  Jesus came to earth to show us His power, and how to win over the devil’s setbacks using the supernatural power of the Holy Spirit.

Four Ways to Gain Power

1. Get Close To Jesus Who Has Power Over All Things

2 Timothy 1:7 … God gave us a spirit … of power.

Jesus has power over all things, He is all-powerful, He has the power to create, provide, control nature, heal sickness and disease, overcome evil and death. Jesus has resurrection power, the greatest power, the power that overcame death, and when He was crucified on the cross he brought himself back to life.

Now, that is power! No other religious figure in human history has had the kind of power of Jesus, worked of miracles, predicted His death and resurrection, and accomplished it. All other religious leaders have died, Mohammed, Confucius, John Smith and Mother Teresa, Buddha, and they are still in the grave. Jesus is alive and through His resurrection power He has conquered death and He will never die.

As we read the Bible we see everyone who got close to Jesus experience His power. Jesus wants you to have His power to win against your adversary, the devil.

Let’s pray and ask him to give us a greater revelation of his power. Let’s pray this together:

Jesus, our heart desires to have a closer relationship with you. We know everyone who is close to you experiences your power. Please bring us, our children, and our church family into a closer relationship with you, where we experience your resurrection power. We need your power to overcome the adversity we are facing. We need your supernatural power at work in us.  Will you please increase our awareness of YOU and let your power be at work in our lives. We ask that you would show us, your power in our marriages, children, business, finances, sicknesses, and give us the power to listen and obey the Holy Spirit. We ask for a closer walk with Jesus.  Let the powerful Holy Spirit, fill us with joy, peace, and righteousness. Amen

We love you and we will be praying for you. We would love to hear where you are, in your nearest to God? Tell us, what you do to feel close to God?
