3 Ways to Overcome Difficulty

My husband, Jerry, and I decided that when we hear some concerning news we wouldn’t talk about it in a negative light. We understand there is power in your words to create. The Bible says life and death are in the power of the tongue. We have learned that when certain news could cause us stress or we don’t have the right thoughts and words to help us walk through this spot, we agreed to go to God. We go to His Word to find hope and answers because God is our greatest and best counselor.

God gave me Psalms 102:12-13: But You, O Lord, are still on the throne. For You will arise and have mercy on Zion; for the time to favor her yes, the set time, has come. I believe God spoke to me through this verse and showed me three ways to overcome difficulties that I would like to share with you.

3 Ways to Overcome Difficulty

1. Say to Yourself: “God is on the throne and in control.”

When we are feeling anxious because we are facing impossible situations and negative thoughts keep replaying in our minds, remind yourself of Psalms 102:12 - God is still on the throne. Say to yourself, “God is still on the throne, He rules over all and is in control.”

God is sovereign and supreme. He rules over everything. Nothing can happen in your life without His permission.  There is a story in the Bible about a man named Job. The devil said he could not touch or harm Job because God had put a hedge around him. God has put a hedge of protection around you and your children. Nothing and no one can harm your family without God’s permission.

God also promised that He would never allow something to happen to you that you could not handle. So we need to ask God to give us the strength and energy to handle hard things with wisdom.  In 1 Corinthians 10:13, it says “…he will not give us more than we can handle.” Satan is the author of everything evil. God is the author of everything good and only does good. Sometimes God allows us to struggle in a specific area to mature us, humble us, show us Himself, set us up so we can handle more achievement, build us into a stronger person, or give us His character. Another reason for your hardships is Satan is trying to stop you from fulfilling your purpose. Take some time, pray and ask God what He wants to teach you in your present struggle.

2. Say to Yourself: “God is arising from His throne to show me mercy.”

God gives us mercy in every problem or distress. His mercy shows us forgiveness, compassion, pity, kindness, generosity, leniency, and understanding.  When you go before a judge and you are innocent, you ask for justice. But if you are guilty, you need mercy. When we cry to God for mercy in our time of need He promised to hear, answer and help us. The Bible says in Psalms 34:17 The righteous cry out, and the Lord hears them; he delivers them from all their troubles.

I love this verse in Psalms 102:13 in the TPT version, I know you are about to arise and show your tender love to… (us). Now is the time, Lord, for your compassion and mercy to be poured out.  I can see God is getting up from His throne and is pouring out mercy, goodness, love, answers, miracles, restoration, and healings for us. God’s mercy always responds to our cry for help. Take a moment, pray and cry out for mercy to triumph over your circumstances.

3. Say to Yourself: “My set time for favor has come.”

In Psalm 102:1-13, the person writing this verse was having an extremely tough day. As they cried and prayed they listed out all their problems to God.  They said, “I’m sick, I can’t sleep, I can’t eat, I’ve withered away, I’ve lost all my friends, I’ve no income, I’m lonely, I’m mocked and I’m despised.” They tell us in verses one through eleven how hurt, discouraged, and depressed they are. But in verse twelve the negative feelings change as they focus on God. It says in Psalms 102:12-13 But You, O Lord, are still on the throne. For You will arise and have mercy on (me) Zion; for the time to favor her yes, the set time, has come.

God promises to arise, scatter and defeat all your enemies. When God arises sickness, lack, poverty, struggle, addictions, and defeat depart. Our God stands up for us and fights our battles, conquers our enemies, and breaks off the darkness. God will make a way where there seems to be no way. He will favor, bless and provide for you. What God blesses, all the forces of evil cannot curse or stop! Let your heart say, “God is on the throne and He rules in the affairs of men.” Say to yourself, “It is God’s time to grant me a favor, He will pity me and this is my appointed time for favor.  The set time has come, it is my designated moment for favor, blessings, and increase.”

Pray and ask the Holy Spirit to speak inspirational thoughts to you from  Psalms 102:12-13 But You, O Lord, are still on the throne. For You will arise and have mercy on Zion; for the time to favor him yes, the set time has come. Take time to write down what the Holy Spirit is showing you.

Declare Your Future:

I declare God is on the throne and in control of my life. I declare God will arise and show me mercy, goodness, compassion, and aid. God will restore my children, answer my prayers and fulfill his prophetic promises to me. I declare restoration over everything the devil has stolen from me and my family, respect, self-worth, confidence, happiness, dreams, hopes, purpose, value, health, joy, peace, and finances.  I declare favor over my children and they will be mighty in the land. This is our set time, to win, defeat enemies, bring down strongholds, experience revival, overcome difficulties and renounce demonic obstructions …The Lord is still on the throne. You will arise and have mercy on (me) Zion; For the time to favor her. Yes, the set time has come.

Please share with us what the Holy Spirit spoke to you from Psalms 102:12-13.

I love you and cannot wait to hear from you. Let us know how we can pray.
