Moments With the Holy Spirit
… listen to the Spirit and understand what He is saying… Revelation 2:7
What is a Moment with the Holy Spirit? It is when the Holy Spirit speaks deep inspirational thoughts to you through the scriptures. It is when the Holy Spirit tells you that He is answering your prayers, giving you a miracle, and helping you stay in peace, confidence, faith, and trust while you wait for the miracle. It is when you listen and obey His voice then quickly see the reward of your obedience. A great moment is when He shows up with His powerful presence just to be with you.
The Holy Spirit is active on the earth. This is His hour, His time, and His season. He is the third person of the Godhead.
God the Father designed everything and He is our creator. But humanity rejected God by loving and desiring other things like wealth, power and pleasure. Our incredible good and perfect Father God lives in heaven caring for you and it is God who answers your prayers.
Jesus the Son came to earth to bring us back in a relationship with God. Jesus was crucified and died on a cross for our sins and mistakes. His death means that we are forgiven and can be back in a relationship with God. But many rejected Jesus and His plan of salvation. Jesus fulfilled His purpose of dying on the cross for our sins and now sits at the right hand of God in heaven and Jesus is praying for us.
The Holy Spirit is now dwelling on earth. This is the time of the Holy Spirit, it is His hour in history and this present era is known as: The Age of the Holy Spirit. We should seek to know and receive the person of the Holy Spirit. All God wants to do in us will be done through the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit dwells in us and the Holy Spirit prays through us.
The Holy Spirit’s ministry is huge in our lives. The Holy Spirit came to be for us, what Jesus personally was to His disciples. Jesus was the most dynamic person in all human history. The disciples left everything and followed Him. Being around Jesus was meaningful and exciting. Imagine the incredible energy and power as He performed supernatural miracles. The power of the Holy Spirit flowed through Jesus giving Him the ability to do the impossible. That same Holy Spirit power and anointing is available to dwell in us.
Take a moment to pray. Ask the Holy Spirit to give you moments together - ask Him to do what He would like to do in you and through you.
The Power of a Moment with the Holy Spirit
1. I felt His power and presence.
One of the greatest experiences in my life was being baptized in the Holy Spirit. It was at a youth camp when I was 16 years old. One night at the front of the church a group of girls gathered around me praying that I would receive more of the Holy Spirit and that I would receive my prayer language from the Holy Spirit. I did receive my prayer language and it was amazing! As I prayed in this language, I felt the power of God flow through me and I could feel God’s presence in me and surrounding me. It was a life-changing experience. I now pray in my prayer language daily feeling the presence of God dwelling in me. Luke 1:35 … The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you.
2. I felt a fresh hunger for the Bible and I could finally understand it.
I became a Christian when I was six years old and was a faithful follower reading my Bible and going to church. But I had a hard time understanding the Bible. After being filled with the Holy Spirit I fell in love with my Bible. The Holy Spirit showed me verses that overcame everyday problems, giving me vision, and life purpose. It helped me understand myself and why I was created. Now as I read a chapter from the Bible the Holy Spirit speaks to me through His Word. The Holy Spirit is the revealer of truth, teaching, guiding, directing, and speaking to us. 1 Cor 2:12 We… received … the Spirit who is from God, that we may understand what God has freely given us.
3. I felt a new excitement and energy for my life purpose.
I was fighting depression as a teenager but when the Holy Spirit came into my life the depression left and I received strength, energy, and purpose. I was so excited about my life. The Holy Spirit’s plan is to work powerfully in the life of the believer by leading us, enabling us, imparting spiritual gifts to us, producing Christ-like character in us, and delivers us. The Holy Spirit will also give us His power, anointing, and authority for supernatural works. When tough times come we need the Holy Spirit to help us overcome and ensure our victory. God gave Jesus all power and authority. Jesus gave us power and authority through the person of the Holy Spirit. Luke 10:19 …I have given you authority … over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall injure you.
4. I felt I knew God and Jesus better, they felt nearer to me.
After receiving The Holy Spirit my eyes were open and I finally felt like I knew God. It was no longer just trying to believe in Him but it was now God dwelling in me. The Holy Spirit reveals Jesus and God to us, making us feel closer, loved, and cared for by God. The Holy Spirit’s desire is we know Him as our friend, comforter, helper, and indweller. Our relationship with the Holy Spirit will strengthen, encourage and empower us. John 14:26 But the Helper (Comforter, Advocate, Intercessor—Counselor, Strengthener, Standby), the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name [in My place, to represent Me and act on My behalf]…
This is wonderful news! In Acts 2:4 it says we can be filled with the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit dwells in us and we dwell in him!
