God's mercies are new every morning (Lamentations 3:23)

We all have made mistakes and gotten off the right course. When we do things that we know we shouldn’t do, it leaves us feeling like a failure.  Failure, sin and defeat makes us go inward causing us to feel anxiety, anger and depression. When we think about our mistakes we feel guilty and feel like we are letting God and people down. You tell yourself how bad you are and how God could never bless you especially because you have made mistakes. With God it is just the opposite: When you fail - He wants to pick you up, love you, and help you. God doesn’t want us to beat ourselves up over our past failures, living in regret and guilt.

God wants you to know He is merciful and He has a plan to help you overcome mistakes. Exodus 34:6-7 MSG says… “a God of mercy and grace, endlessly patient—so much love, so deeply true—loyal in love for a thousand generations, forgiving iniquity, rebellion, and sin.”

God knew you would make mistakes on your journey. He made a plan to rescue, recover, and restore you to a place of victory.  God’s amazing strategy is to replace your failures with His mercy. God takes our mistakes and makes them miracles. This is mercy.

No matter what you have done, you must realize God’s mercy supersedes your mistakes. God knew we would have some failures along the way. When He designed us and planned out our lives, it wasn’t dependent on you being perfect. God knew we would all make mistakes. If you feel like you have blown it and gotten off track, understand that no mistake you have made will ever surprise God. God already has it figured out.

He has pre-arranged a miracle for your mistake. A setup for your setback. An awesome future to replace that horrible failure. God’s mercy never fails. God’s mercy turns around your failures and cleans up your sins and causes something good to come out of your mistakes. Titus 3:4-5 NLT says…”When God our Savior revealed his kindness and love, he saved us, not because of the righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He washed away our sins, giving us a new birth and a new life through the Holy Spirit.” God describes himself first and foremost as a God of mercy. Mercy is a characteristic of God. God uses mercy to define himself in the Bible. Mercy is multi-facet. Mercy is: God’s love, forgiveness, favor, compassion, help, and patience towards us.  God shows us mercy when we deserve judgment. We sin and God forgives us. God’s mercy will bring you out of trouble. In Micah 7:18 MSG it says, “Mercy is your specialty. That’s what you love most. And compassion is on its way to us.You’ll stamp out our wrong doing. You’ll sink our sinsto the bottom of the ocean.”

Mercy is what gets us out of trouble!

Hebrews 4:16 MSG tells us…, “So let’s walk right up to him and get what he is so ready to give. Take the mercy, accept the help.”

A Prayer For Mercy: I admit I have made bad choices and mistakes. Please forgive me. I am asking for your mercy in my situation. Your mercy is bigger than any failures I have made. I am not defined by my failures, mistakes or sins. I am defined by God’s mercy and love. I am defined by what God says about me. I am forgiven. I am redeemed. My past mistakes are behind me, and my failures are gone and washed away. I believe all my mistakes are covered by your mercy. All my failures are in the past and I move on. I declare that you take all my failures and turn them into a victorious future for me! You will take my mess and make it a message! You will take my mistakes and turn them into miracles. I receive God’s multi-facet mercy (love, forgiveness, compassion, unexpected kindness, and favor). Thank you for mercy. Amen

Declare Mercy To Mistakes:The next time you feel guilty or like a failure. Say I don’t receive the negative feelings about myself instead I take hold of God’s mercy. Say: Yes, what I did was wrong but thank God for His mercy! Thank God for His love, and forgiveness. I am a trophy of His grace. I declare Jesus is making miracles of my mistakes. I praise Jesus for turning my failure into victory!  When Satan sees me praising God every time he brings up that painful failure – He is going to stop accusing me with it because he doesn’t want me praising God for His mercy! I will remember that God’s mercy will bring me out of all trouble and into victory, healing, purpose, peace, favor, blessings and miracles. PRAISE GOD FOR HIS MERCY!

I would love to hear … What God’s mercy means to you? And how will you apply mercy to your mistakes?
