Shape Your Future
Many times my son woke me up in the middle of the night having trouble breathing but this time he was turning blue. I quickly called 911 and within a few minutes the fire trucks were at my home helping my son to breathe. We urgently rushed him to the hospital. At the hospital we found out he had croup, a respiratory infection, causing the swelling in the upper airways making it hard for him to breathe. This was a scary experience for us all. I called my church friends to pray with me for complete healing for my son. Immediately, I felt peace and the presence of God near us. The Holy Spirit reminded me of Luke 5:17 …the power of the Lord was present to heal... (my son). All night long I spoke that verse over my child. The next morning he woke up healed and never had croup again. I still praise Jesus for giving me a miracle that night.
Miracles will empower and shape your future. God has designed you to work miracles just like His Son, Jesus, who performed an untold amount of miracles. When Jesus lived on the earth he went about doing miracles and healing everyone who asked. The Bible says if all of Jesus’s miracles were written down there wouldn’t be a building large enough to hold all the volumes of books. Jesus loves us and wants to perform miracles for us, in us, and through us. God has called us to be like Jesus and perform miracles. John 14:12 NET Jesus said … the person who believes in me will perform miraculous deeds… and will perform greater deeds… WOW! Jesus says… we will perform greater miraculous deeds than he did. You might be shouting “Yes, I want to do miracles! ..... But wait… how do I do it?" Let me share with you; how YOU can empower your future and HOW TO GET A MIRACLE.
In order to receive a miracle we must first understand …How do miracles happen? After studying the life of the greatest miracle worker Jesus, we know a miracle comes from a prayer of faith. Jesus tells us in Matthew 21:22 ESV …whatever you ask in prayer, you will receive, if you have faith. The prayer of faith will bring a miracle and empower your life. The Prayer of Faith has 3 Components: Bible, Prayer & Faith
First, the prayer of faith has a Bible promise attached to it.
Step One: Realize a miracle always starts with a word from God. Begin now, take a lot of time reading the Bible to find a verse that gives you a promise to overcome your difficulty or helps you believe your dream. The Bible has over 800 promises. We can take any Bible promise and make them our own. A few days ago the Holy Spirit gave me a wonderful promise from His Word. It was in James 5:16 …the effectual fervent prayer… availeth much. I felt the Holy Spirit whisper “Don’t stop fervently praying.” I have been praying for a miracle for a family member and the Holy Spirit was encouraging me with a verse of scripture. After hearing this promise, I prayed more intently for God to answer me with a miracle. When you need a miracle always find a scripture to stand on.
Second, the prayer of faith has a person who keeps praying until the answer comes.
Step Two: A miracle always comes in answer to a prayer. Once you have a scripture take it to prayer daily and pray it over and over again. Never stop. Never give up. Keep asking the Lord for a miracle. God wants to give you a miracle, He promised this in his word. Many times in your life you will face a problem that you need a miracle for. Don’t stop pleading and praying the word of God fervently. I love this story in Luke 18:1-8 …One day Jesus taught the apostles to keep praying and never stop or lose hope. He shared with them this illustration: In a certain town there was a civil judge, a thick-skinned and godless man who had no fear of others opinions. And there was a poor widow in that town who kept pleading with the judge, Grant me justice and protect me against my oppressor! He ignored her pleas for quite some time, but she kept asking. Eventually he said to himself, This widow keeps annoying me, demanding her rights, and I’m tired of listening to her. Even though I’m not a religious man and don’t care about the opinions of others, I’ll just get her off my back by answering her claims for justice and I’ll rule in her favor. Then she’ll leave me alone. The Lord continued, Did you hear what the ungodly judge said—that he would answer her persistent request? Don’t you know that God, the true judge, will grant justice to all of his chosen ones who cry out to him night and day? He will pour out his Spirit upon them. He will not delay to answer you and give you what you ask for. God will give swift justice to those who don’t give up. So be ever praying, ever expecting, just like the widow was with the judge. Yet when the Son of Man comes back, will he find this kind of persistent faithfulness in his people?This persistent prayer person was a woman, she was smart and she shaped her future with prayer. Start here with prayer and a verse!
Third the prayer of faith requires a person of faith.
Step Three: A miracle always needs a person’s faith that will not give up. Faith is simple once you understand it. Faith trusts God to do what he said he would do. Faith believes God’s promises no matter what their circumstances say. Faith has confidence in God. Jesus said in Matthew 17:20 …if you have faith …nothing will be impossible for you. If we believe God’s word nothing is impossible for us. Faith is trusting, believing and having confidence in God. How do we get faith to trust and believe God for miracles? Romans 10:17 says…Faith comes from hearing the word…
Start Now - Take the Steps to Write Out Your Dreams
Read the Bible get a scriptural promise.
Pray fervently.
Talk words of faith.
Do this over and over every day, Romans 4:21 says be …fully convinced that what God promised he was also able to do. It is time for us to see our dreams happen, it is time for your miracle.
