My husband and I had just built our dream home on the side of a cliff overlooking a beautiful green timbered forest. I had just given birth to our fourth amazing son, our careers were soaring and we had many close friends at church. Life looked promising. But something felt uneasy, as we began praying together, we heard God tell us to sell everything and go to another city and help plant a church. We had only been living in our new home for a month but after a lot of prayer and wise counsel from our pastor, we said yes to leaving our business and home to move to another city to reach people for Jesus. We were so excited to give up everything to share the love of Jesus and to build His church. I remember many scriptures God gave us to pack up and move. Like, Deuteronomy 28:6, "You will be …blessed when you go out." We had so much peace and God did bless us with thousands of people coming to Christ and we became full time pastors. That was over 30 years ago.
Praying and hearing from the Holy Spirit has been the success story of our lives. We pray about everything and listen for the Spirit of God to speak to our spirit. When the Holy Spirit speaks from His word, we just listen and obey. This has made our life an adventure, our lives with the Holy Spirit’s direction has never been boring. Jesus tells us in John 5:19 I …do nothing on my own initiative … For whatever the Father does, I do likewise. We should be like Jesus, spending time with God and doing what He says. All that God has for us and wants to do in us will be done by the operation of the Holy Spirit in our lives. We should seek the Holy Spirit daily to unlock his supernatural miraculous power in us to do things that exceed our imagination, so we can live our greatest life now.
The Holy Spirit cares about you spirit, soul and body. He says in 3 John 1:2, "Beloved, I desire that in all things thou shouldest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospers."
