How Can I Win - 2021
2020 was a difficult year for our nation. In late February the COVID pandemic hit and we experienced the closing of schools, businesses, and churches. Three months later in May, the protests began. Many of us Christians responded in love, care, and compassion. About five months later in November, we had an election crisis. Again many Christian responded in passionate prayer for our leaders.
Last October of 2020 was especially difficult for our family when we received some very bad news, that my husband had a cyst on his pancreas that needed to be surgically removed. (After the surgery we received the good news that the cyst was successfully removed and he had no cancer anywhere in his body).
How Can I Win - 4 Ways to Always Win!
1. Believe God is good and He is for you.
Romans 8:31 says… If God is for us who can be against us? We don’t need to be afraid or worried because God cares about us. God is good, he is working good, and good is coming. In Psalm 84:11 it says …No good thing will God withhold from you. We believe God is our great and wonderful father who is working everything together for our good. If your dad is God and He is the owner and operator of all things and He is for you - what person or thing could be against you? THINK ABOUT IT …God controls the whole world, he is your dad and HE IS FOR YOU! Romans 8:28 And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.
2. Discover a promise in the Bible.
James 1:17 Every good and perfect gift is from above… God has given us more than 7,000 promises in the Bible promising to heal, empower, love, help, prosper, protect, direct, deliver us, and much more. Romans 8:32 …He who did not spare His own Son but gave him up for us…will he not… freely give us all things? We need to search the Bible and find promises that will help us overcome every and all difficulty we face.
3. Pray the promise back to him.
Hebrews 4:12-13 MSG God means what he says. What he says goes. His powerful Word is sharp as a surgeon’s scalpel, cutting through everything, whether doubt or defense, laying us open to listen and obey. Nothing and no one is impervious to God’s Word. We can’t get away from it—no matter what. This verse is telling us nothing and no one is unreceptive, resistant, impermeable, impervious, unaffected, or unmoved by God’s Word. God’s word moves and changes everything and everyone, no one can stop it, hinder it or escape it. God’s word is marching forward powerfully in the believers’ prayers with the force and power of thousands and thousands of angels working to perform His Word. Hebrews 1:14 are not all those (angel) spirits dispatched as ministers to take care of those who shall belong to the Christian church. We release the miraculous power and supernatural authority of heaven’s armies when we use the Word of God in prayer!
4. Trust God to perform His word in your life.
Nahum 1:7 The Lord is good, a refuge in times of trouble. He cares for those who trust in him. We are learning to trust in His Word and not in what I see or hear. My trust in God is not based on what I see or feel - My Trust Is Based On What God Says In His Word! Genesis 21:2 says… And the Lord did…what he had promised. Luke 1:45 Blessed is she who has believed that the Lord would fulfill his promises to her. No matter what my circumstances says, no matter what has happened to me in the past or no matter what I see or feel now…. I am still waiting for God to rescue me and bring about my God-purpose----because He is for me. I will stay positive, I will be optimistic and I will expect blessing, prosperity, and goodness to come to my life. Proverb 11:27 If you search for good, you will find favor; but if you search for evil, it will find you.
Let’s continually remind ourselves that God is good, God is working all things together for our good and GOOD IS COMING!
What are your trusting God for in 2021? Share it with us, and we will pray. Don’t be discouraged if it has taken a long time. Last night at my friends’ small group we were in the beautiful new home of one of our group members, congratulating them. They are a wonderful giving couple, the godliest and we rejoiced for their new home---the house of their dreams. For the past fourteen years, they have not owned a home and in those years, I have never heard them complain, compare themselves with others, or get discouraged and speak negatively about God and his promises. Instead, they had a 14-year prayer to get a home in San Diego, and yesterday we were sitting in the answer to their prayers. We were all celebrating God’s goodness in their lives. I hope their story encourages you to not give up! IT IS TIME FOR YOU TO WIN.
